memorialday07

Here they are. I went out for Friday-Monday night for Memorial Day weekend. It was shitty weather. Good people, good food, good gaming haha. Congrats to Anne and Mike on the baby.

Not many of them, but the pictures are up anyway. They’re my first shots with my new SD800…I love this camera. Great for point & shoot. Israel post is coming up.

Since my last post. Shame on me. What’s new? Well, my genius of a neighbor drove into my brand new car while it was parked. It’s now in the shop getting a new door while I drive the crappiest car in existance, the Chevy Cobalt. I almost wish I got the insurance just to drive the thing off a cliff. Crank windows, no power locks, no cruise control. I didn’t think it was gonna make it up the hill from Camarillo leaving work last night. Thank god I’m leaving town so I don’t have to be seen in this thing over the weekend. I’ve got a busy few months coming up. This Friday I leave for Texas to go visit Mike in Dallas. Should be a good time. I come back Monday night. Two weeks later, I leave for Israel for 12 days. Well, it’s really 10 days since 2 of them are spend in an airplane, but yeah. Two weeks after that, my aunt is getting married on a cruise ship to Mexico. Of course, everything will be documented with my new camera, the Canon SD800IS. I couldn’t just get the camera alone, so I also got a Gorillapod, an extra battery, and a 2GB high-speed Sandisk SD card. There was a promo if you bought a printer, so I picked up a cheap photo printer too that prints surprisingly decent photos too. My next post will probably be pictures of Texas. AK out.

I decided a few days ago that I was way bored of the Audi. If you don’t know me very well, not many things give me as much joy as a badass car. So this weekend, I traded in my A4 for a fully loaded 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan in Blue Slate with black interior. It’s automatic but has paddle shifting so it was a good compromise. 306hp and 268lb/ft of torque make me happy. God how I hated front wheel drive…Anyway, here is the list of toys it came with:

Premium Package
Includes power sliding/tilt glass sunroof with one-touch auto open/close and safety reverse, Infiniti Studio on Wheels by Bose premium audio system with 6-disc in-dash CD changer with MP3 playback, RDS, 10 speaker system including 3 subwoofers and 24-bit Burr Brown DAC, driver seat memory system which includes sideview mirrors, steering wheel and auto-position synchronization, auto entry/exit assist system, power driver’s 2-way lumbar support, power rear windows with one-touch auto up/down and safety reverse, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, Homelink universal transceiver, Bluetooth hands-free phone system and heated front seats and sideview mirrors.

Infiniti Navigation Package
Includes hard drive-based Infiniti Navigation System with touchscreen, lane guidance, building footprints, Birdview imaging system, XM NAVTraffic which provides real-time traffic information, voice recognition, 9.5GB music hard drive w/Gracenote CD database, trunk mounted 6-disc CD changer, compact flash card slot for playing MP3 files and XM satellite radio.

Technology Package
Includes adaptive front lighting system, rearview camera and intelligent cruise control with preview braking.

There is nothing like being able to talk to your car…I tell it “temperature 72″ and the AC turns on. Call me lazy, but I think it’s fucking sweet. Changing CDs, playing mp3s, etc…all by voice! The tech package is insane too. I turn the wheel at night, and the headlights move in the direction I turn the wheel before the car. This is going to make canyon driving at night a breeze with HIDs…woot! I set cruise control on the freeway and the car slows down (it actually brakes!) when somebody gets in front of me and speeds up by itself when they move or I switch lanes. It’s like autopilot or something. I scared Robby a little yesterday on the way to Commerce when I had the cruise control set at like 75 and traffic slowed down to 30. He was like “you should probably slow down” and I said “lets try the cruise control thing”…the car slowed down to 20 by itself!

I haven’t been this excited since I was a little girl haha. Until I have a photo shoot with Chris and his D-SLR, these will have to suffice for now :)

Gauges

I picked up some new clothes today at the mall and also bought myself a Mooninite hoodie off of eBay :-) ATHF for life, bitches! I couldn’t resist it when PayPal announced they were running a $15 off $30 deal for any purchases. $17 shipped is a steal. I tried to use my student discount at the Apple store to get the new Airport Extreme base station, but the douchebag wouldn’t sell it to me without my ID when I did the same thing last week for my Airport Express with no hassle. Oh well, it can wait. I decided to get a bluetooth Mighty Mouse from Amazon instead. It’s white, but it’ll have to do for now. Not being able to right click on my new laptop is the biggest pain in the ass EVER. Control+click FTL!

Here I am, bored at work…all I’ve thought about for the last week is Vegas. 10 more hours and I’ll be on my way…woohoo! Rental car, the homies and a room at the luxurious Tropicana. Fucking Kevin got that old school 1-800-GO2TROP commercial stuck in my head after an AIM message the other day. Die in a fire! Anyway, wish me luck. Blackjack, craps, slots and poker…here I come.

Let’s see…memories of this month:
For my 23rd birthday (shit, I’m getting old), I had two fantastic dinners - One at Maestro’s in Beverly Hills and another at Fleming’s in Woodland Hills. I highly reccomend both spots if you have the funds.

I bought a Macbook. This has to be the most fantastic machine I’ve ever bought. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another Dell laptop in this lifetime.

Friday night I went to a poker party. Robby busted out with pocket aces against some douche who caught a cheap flush. Jesse and I wound up heads up after we knocked out 15 everybody else and split $280. A cash game started up afterwards. I doubled up the first hand and walked with about $200 more than I came in with. Good times. If you’re interested in playing with us, let me know - the more the merrier.

Scott dropped in on short notice this weekend while I was at work on Saturday. Good times at Denny’s, playing Wii Sports for wayyy too long and 3-4-1 night at Howl at the Moon.

I had 4 tickets to the Pennywise, Circle Jerks and Ignite show at the House of Blues on Sunset, so we met up with Danny and Brandon that afternoon. Brandon flaked for the show so Courtney was down, met up with her, swooped up Gary and dropped off Scott with Kevin to go to the airport. The Pennywise show was awesome with the exception of the LAPD arresting one of the homies.

Back to work again…can’t believe I’ve almost been here a year.
